Since that is a major travel day just wanted to give a heads up that much of MS could be seeing a severe threat that afternoon and evening. This is still several days out, but does bear watching. Jury is still out on just how potent this system will be, but all of the ingredients for severe weather will be in place to some degree...some more than others. The biggest question might be just how unstable the atmosphere can become ahead of the storm. Wind shear looks to be in abundance so any storm updrafts that form should have no issue maintaining themselves. Right now, all modes of severe weather look possible with damaging straight line winds and tornadoes looking to be the biggest threats.
