Sorry to break up all the "Coaching" talk; Just saw that we added a 2 game series vs TX-Tech March 11-12 in Biloxi. Should be a good matchup. Is the ball park down there nicer than the M Braves in Pearl?

That’s going to be awesome! Games like that are what I envisioned when I first heard that Biloxi was getting a minor league team.

Is the ball park down there nicer than the M Braves in Pearl?IMO, it's not nicer, just newer. It's built from ground level up, not dug into the dirt like the new stadiums, due to being at sea level. The concessions are also super expensive, and whether or not you'll be able to buy a $10 beer in March will be a crapshoot. I went to an early season game down there (that State lost) and there was only domestic beers...no Chandeleur brews, or Abita, etc... What it makes up for is an incredible view of the Beau Rivage. In the heat of the summer, for a Shuckers game...it gets pretty still and swampy in there thanks to previously mentioned large Casina blocking the breeze.

Didn't Tech learn their lesson? We whipped their ass last year in Fort Worth. Gonna whip it worse on the coast.

Yea, and I froze my ass off in the bleachers for that one. I will be travelling to Biloxi in late March and I will miss it by a couple of weeks. Would have loved to see the games.

Its a great venue. They do sell all kinds of beer for the Shuckers games but the team has nothing to do with the non MILB games and I don't know who runs the non shucker games. I was there for the last game we played there and it was a clusterFuc by the persons who put it on. The game that was being held prior to the state game was delayed and we couldn't get into the ballpark till that game was over. Plus we sucked that night and got beat. And yes that big Casino does block the winds

Great draw for the Biloxi dawgs.

This is a CWS caliber matchup & 2 mid week games.

Should be a packed house on the coast for this series & give our fans down there legitimate games instead of the cupcakes they usually get

I'd like to see us play LSU there. But they're not going to leave Louisiana for a game like this.

In Jackson if the M-Braves play a game they usually have the M-Braves game at like 10 AM in the morning so it would basically have to be the longest game in baseball history to even interfere with the Governor's Cup. Usually it's an elementary school day or something like that.

Not in Mississippi anyway. There were the old Winn Dixie Showdown's/Busch Classic's at the Superdome in NOLA. MSU won a couple of those.

I know we play OM and USM in Jackson .. I was just asking bc I've never been to a game in the Biloxi stadium. I'm just glad we are getting teams like Tech for a small series. This baseball program is going to bring a Natty before long. It's just time!

I think it's very important for our baseball program to be "on display" around the state.
