They're 6-5. If they did, would you take Herman?

I would prefer not hiring failed coaches from other institutions

If he were our only choice, yes.

I saw him head butt a player yesterday that had a helmet on. So no

Herman was supposed to be a pretty sure thing. Was going to restore Texas to glory for sure.

I think it's as hard to build and establish/re-establish a program in college football as it's ever been. Too much inconsistency across the board.

I don't know what a good or successful head coach looks like anymore because there are about 30-40 teams that on any given saturday are roughly the exact same.

Texas has more money than they can spend and are more dillusional about themselves than OM. It is the perfect place for a coach to make retirement income fast. They do have great academics, but much of their great football heritage rests on beating old SWC conference foes. Beating UGA last year just fueled the fire.

But you love Hud and he does that kind of stuff. Herman is a bad cultural fit there. Austin has become snowflake central and he?s a hard ass. TX will never be a power again. They might have a year here or there, but they?re done being great.

If we are kicking the tires on Big 12 coaches, I would much prefer throwing a pile of cash at Gary Patterson.

What's the big deal if a player had his helmet on?

If he can?t win at Texas, what makes you think he can win in the SEC West?

He already turned us down...said in effect that TCU was a better job

I don't know. Manny succeeded here, but not there. Mack brown seems to have North Carolina going in the right direction after falling apart in the end at Texas. Different sport, but ric Barnes is succeeding in the sec after it fell apart some on him at Texas. Texas seems to have issues in their athletic dept. I really don't know if I'd take Herman or not, but I do think he's a good coach

Herman would be a good hire. UT hired a new AD a year or so ago who cleaned house a bit. They could be poised for change for the better as an athletic department.

No. They have more sense than to fire him after two years.

I'd take a hard look at him - most of (not all) of his problems this year has been his awful defense.
