during the Vaught years. Thankfully for him it was early on when Jackie Parker was our QB. He said back then they made freshmen keep up a beat for the entire week with a drum on top of Lee or Old Main. The beat was BEAT, BEAT, BEAT OLE MISS. It didn't help much. Those were the darkest days in the rivalry for us. They didn't quit or give up. They didn't root for the Confederate bastards either. Go To HELL Ole Miss!
