I was talking to my neighbors the other day one of which I knew served with 1/9 from Jun 67-jun 68. He was there as a cherry at Con Thien and left after sitting on a hill between KSMB and the Lang Vei SF camp. His companies 1st night was when the NVA hit the camp. He even heard the tanks before the battle. One of my other neighbors was in B 1/9 in June of 67. He was one of the few who survived that ambush. Another neighbor was hit during the battle of the hills in 67. All three of them always say being a marine in that time frame was not conducieve to a healthy lifestyle.
