One thing that needs to be noted with this record vs. ranked teams stuff.....only the ranking at the end matters. It doesn't make two shits what a team was ranked when you beat them.

And by that metric, Mullen has in fact beaten a Top 20 team. Ole Miss was ranked #20 in the AP after the 2009 season concluded.

And that chart really places things into context. Not a single program has a winning record against Ranked Opponents. Not one. Yes, we need to do better against ranked teams - but so do most of the other teams in FCS.

I'm fine with losing to ranked teams when we play hard and keep it close. I was 110% satisfied with that the first 3 years. The past 2, not so much...
