I know we aren't going to win, but there must be some bar that we can approach that makes everyone feel better about the direction of the program.
For me:
- There are no more excuses for plastic man. I fully expect Bama to sack him 6+ times today, but it'd be nice to see some potential in our offense against a good team. I remember that LSU game in Mullen's first year. We didn't win & lost a heart breaker when Lee didn't pitch it to Boobie, but nonetheless that day gave you hope that Mullen's could get the job done. You could see the progress. I'm hoping for the same today.
- I know our secondary will get burned some today, Bama's WRs are too good, but for goodness sakes, can we be competitive & not blow coverages like we did vs LSU & A&M? Can everyone appear to know what they are doing & be competitive?
- No special teams screw-ups. Our most poorly coached unit on the field will likely make a major mistake, but it'd be nice to see some progress with this unit.
Mainly today I want to see a program that appears to be on the way up instead of on the way down, like I still believe it is. Joe has had 2 weeks to prepare for this game & has a supposedly healthy Tommy Stevens for the first time since USM. We better see progress.
