Not who do you want? Or who we should hire. Who do you think ?we? actually hire. I say we because I think there will be more folks involved this time than just John Cohen.

Hopefully the search will be outside of the MSU ?formula for success? of only hiring coordinators. Include some sitting head coaches please.

I guarantee the new hire there will be an emphasis on discipline.

Mike Norvell

Pretty easy.

Just search the country for an over weight, type B laid back coach. Odds are that's our man

I agree. I’m not even sure who my favorite is. I just want that good “fit” for MSU.

You can rest assured that message boards won't be consulted.....thank goodness.

Well, pretty sure everyone on earth knew that but, thanks. Any input on who you think we hire?

Joe Moorhead will be the coach for th 2020 season.

Joe Moorhead will be the coach for th 2020 season.

I seriously doubt that, but that obviously was NOT the question. Who will be next? Joe’s days are numbered regardless if it’s this year or next. Just curious as to who the board thought would be the next guy.

Mike Norvell or Billy Napier could have been but we will wait to late.

I bet we wait too late.

Nah brah, I was told in other coaching threads that we gotta wait until these guys have a lengthy resume to ensure they aren't just a flash in the pan. Hiring them before we know if they are legit is how we got Moorhead. Nevermind that other programs will just snake these unproven guys first while we need another 3-5 years of resume building before we would consider them.

Dave Aranda should get a hard look.

I hope that that bring a new offensive line coach whatever it is. That and a new S&C coach. This is awful. Schrader does hold it too long on some plays but looking at the game so far, they are atrocious. I know that Moorhead said that he hired him for his intelligence but Moorhead was hired to scheme. We need someone, and I hate to say it, like Hevesy that knows how to coach those guys up. Hopefully one that recruit as well.

At this point, I really don't give a damn as long as it's not Jovester.

Hell, I’m to the point I don’t care. Just get someone that knows how to coach.

Wish:
PJ Fleck - In my opinion, he would be a perfect here. He's one of the best motivators in the game now and does a fantastic job getting the most out of his players. He recruits well and seems to be able to find diamonds much like Mullen was. He's not really sewed to a certain type of offense/defense. I've thought he was legit since he was at WMU. Will it happen? No, but one can hope and wish.

Realistic:
Probably Napier or Norvell or Clark are the most likely. I don't think any of the 3 are bad hires either.

I bet we stay away from Northern coaches this time.

I get what you're saying, but Fleck is on an entirely different level.

No way to know today who is available December 2020.

But..... whoever we hire. It needs to be a HC with assistants. The fact Mullen has kept his guys together is a big reason he is successful.

Well they weren't consulted on the Moorhead hire. That one worked out great.

This can’t be said enough. I’m not buying that he’s back next season. This is his last year. He’s destroying our program. Another year will be brutal.

I think it’ll be Clark. No idea if that’s a good move, but it can’t be nearly this bad.

I don’t see Clark leaving UAB anytime soon but that’s just my opinion
