A returning POY candidate in Perry along with a more mature athletic freak that is Robert Woodard. Pair those two with a 3rd year player in Nick and a senior sharpshooter in Tyson Carter and the ever maturing Ado and this team has a lot. Add to that the most bench depth we've had in Howland's tenure and you have the makings of a successful season and a team that can make noise. Nick being out basically the last quarter of the season stunted last years team's potential more than most realized. He is a defensive stopper who can shut down anyone on a given night. Having him back is huge.

And on top of all that, we'll have a Stansbury back on the bench and leading the team out....if that doesn't signal a return to the 00s height then I don't know what does****

So if a team isn't in the Top 25 there's no optimism? There's what 40+ non automatic bids for the tournament. The majority of preseason brackets have MSU in the tournament. Again if you're not seeing the optimism you're not looking. I know you're more of a women's team guy & that's fine but the men have plenty to be excited about.

The fact that we are actually going to have the full allotment of scholarship players available for the first time since 2008 should be enough optimism right there.
