I don't love threads like this, but this is part of what makes Mullen's handling of Bell so ridiculous. He is hurting Bell more by continuing to put him out there. What Bell needs more than anything is to take field goal kicking off his plate and allow him to clear his mind. I would be willing to bet that kid dreads and fears going out there to kick field goals right now. Mullen is hurting him by continuing to throw him out there.

If anyone has ever played baseball and gone through a hitting slump or fielding slump, then you would understand this concept. Sometimes the best thing for you is to sit for a while and clear your mind.

It's the same reason why you usually play golf pretty well when you haven't played in a while. You have a clear mind and just hit the ball.
