Going for that on 4th down was a sign of desperation, IMO. We weren't short by inches. We were short a good yard. Joe is either trying to hard or he knows he's gone and has nothing to lose. Either way, she should've punted that ball.

Playcalling, etc., looked pretty good until we got to 3rd and short. Moorhead over-thinks stuff way too much sometimes. I'm completely fine going for it there, we get that and we have momentum that we badly need, just don't agree with the playcall.

Irondawg

The problem was that Hill didn’t run to gain a yard on 3rd - he was dancing for a hole

Agreed. I've been extremely critical of Moorhead, I want him gone.... but the first two drives have been some of the best playcalling he's had in awhile. Minus the two calls on third & short and that QB draw on 2nd and 25 (though I get the thinking), I was pleased.

I've said from the get go, I was all aboard the Moorhead train, and wanted more than nothing for him to be successful. He checked all the boxes, said all the right things, but saying the right things and actually doing those things are two completely different things. And to this point in time, he's been fairly opposite of those right things.

Starting Shrader is the difference in this game. The defense plays harder, Gay and Autry or not, and the receivers catch the balls.

Big turnaround for the Dogs. Just hope they don't run out of gas.
