I think it should be allowed, personally... but why wouldn't this be considered an "impermissible benefit"?

I'm pretty sure we should sue the NCAA for violation of their own policies.

Because he's getting zero benefit while attending USC. All that will happen here is that Clowney will be out $50,000 the day after he gets drafted. He is a freak. Top 3 pick no doubt and he's looked like the #1 pick the last two games. Russell needs to sit next week for his own safety.

Don't almost all first rounders have something similar? I think even Gabe Jackson has an insurance policy.

That's very common, and Jackson does have something similar.

even Peyton had one. been around forever... but that's still an impermissible benefit by the NCAA's own rules.

Clowney at only half of Bridgewater's coverage? Must've used cheap "other" insurance company**

The policy cost Clowney around $50,000.00, and was paid through an NCAA-sponsored program in which the bank pays the insurance company, and Clowney pays the bank back once he has been paid by an NFL team."
I don't see how this is not a benefit. He gets to buy a policy that he is the beneficiary of in case he is injured and is out an NFL career. Something that he could not buy otherwise. I know this has been around forever, but seems like a rulebender to me. I don't have a problem with it, but seems like the NCAA should open up some other rules too. Like some kind of an expense allowance. But that's another debate.
