When you only win 8 with that team, you are not a head coach at this level. The absolute floor of that team should have been 10.
But it was completely confirmed to me when he recruited every "free agent" QB in the country this offseason before finally landing his boi Stevens, a Penn State never was. He did it solely to keep Key from having a fair shot at playing and avoid actually having to coach him up some. Say what you will, but Key is the highest rated QB we've ever gotten to campus at State. And he doesn't even get the chance to start because Moorhead decides to blow up the QB room for no logical reason. Good coaches understand the importance of the QB position and Moorhead completely shit on our QBs. Really glad he decided Key can't play with the way Stevens has lit it up this season.********
Shrader is the truth and is going to be really good. I just hope he isn't saddled with Moorhead as his coach any longer than necessary, because he won't make the progress we all believe he can with Moorhead coaching him.
Unfortunately, even after we lose or struggle to an ugly win today, we'll still be stuck with Moorhead next year. Why? Cohen is invested in this hire succeeding for some reason. Ego won't let him admit this guy won't work out. So we'll be MSU and keep a coach an extra year longer than we should because we don't have the balls to proactively fire him. And he'll continue to wreck the decade of progress we made under Mullen, leaving the next guy a bigger hole to crawl out of when he arrives.
