Well, good season Braves. Go Cards.

That was an incredible first inning. They should've taken care of business in St. Louis.

The Braves must be the worst team ever in post-season baseball.

The Chicago Cubs say hi!

I'm going to enjoy this for a couple of days for sure. I didn't think the Cardinals even had a chance at the postseason until late July/early August.

Congrats. Good luck vs dodgers (I hope)

The Dodgers are definitely the better team, but who knows. Still alive.

Cards treated the Braves like Matt Lauer’s secretary.

Hopefully this is the last Braves thread for a while

Exactly what started the rift between these teams this series? If it was Acuna not hustling then I think it’s absurd. Or was it something else? Surely something must have occurred that didn’t get much press.

What did the Braves do other than fold like Oxford Bear Sharks.

As far as the Braves. I?m firing them as my team. They are garbage. They wear Ole Miss uniforms. They have objectionable people in their roster and I don?t need MLB, I won?t pick another team. My Kids hate baseball anyway, can?t even watch 2 innings without protest

MSU baseball, La Liga, and some English Premier League, that?s all I need.

What "objectionable people" are on their roster? Jeez

This didn't age well.

Damn, Dave Roberts blew that one.

As Brian McCann said last night - this is the beginning for this team not the end. This franchise is much closer to where it was in the 1990s then it has been in a long time. Now - it still needs work. But, there is an absolute ton of talent in the Minors, and AA seems to know what he is doing. Most writers and analysts did not even pick the Braves to make the playoffs this year and they won 97 games.

Wonder if he's back as manager next season.

I was working off bad information there. My business partner made some comment how the dodgers already won their series. I didn't pay attention. I was surprised to see they even had a game left to play.

Ummmm... he won 106 games this year.

Mattingly won 3 straight west titles, and they fired him. This is 4 straight west titles for Roberts with no WS title.

ETA... dodgers have won 7 straight division titles and 11/16, but no WS titles. They're probably getting restless again

My wife could have won 100 games with the Dodgers this year.. the only job of a modern manager is to not screw up the bullpen.. well he did.

It doesn’t matter. No one in MLB is firing a manager that has done what Roberts has the past few years.

All he needs to do is quit parading Kershaw to the mound in relief to increase his chances ten fold.

I think there is something to that and probably the root of the issue- to a degree. Kershaw is obviously an elite starting pitcher. Some guys aren't used to coming out of the bullpen and just don't do as well in that situation. It would be like putting Mike Trout in at shortstop. Does he have the raw skill set to do it? Absolutely. Would he be comfortable if the Angels just stuck him there one game? Probably not. It's the same with pitchers. Some are more comfortable out of the bullpen, some are more comfortable starting, and some can do both.

And I say that knowing that Kershaw has also struggled in some starts in the postseason as well.
