Certainly we have enough points built up that we're getting this surgery done for free. ***

Haha, clearly we don't have enough points built up with the dead injuns though

He was prolly gonna be a first out the pen guy like liebelt was last year. This will be a tough blow, really reliable freshman bullpen piece.

That is a huge blow to this team.

Damn, that really sucks about Smith.

Found this interesting article about the possible culprit of TJ: http://clients.chrisoleary.com/Pitching/The-Epidemic/The-Big-Five/Tommy-John-Surgery-Twist

I don’t think it’s as big a deal as some think.

It's going to hurt.

He was in our top 6. Going to need someone to step up.

I agree with you. It's not all doom and gloom by any stretch.

Just lost 90 innings of contribution. Smith was going to be that important

We’re going to need some JUCO’s, seniors, grad transfers, and freshmen to step up.

Yep. We are going to need a few pleasant surprises as far as kids being ahead of schedule in their development. I was expecting Spencer Price to be back but it looks like that isn’t happening and now Smith goes down. This puts pressure on the whole staff to step up as a group.

losing a strike thrower that can eat innings is a blow. Now it could be worse.

He wasn?t going to be 1st out of the pen. He was a top-3 starter until now.

No solution other than others will pitch those innings. The grad transfers were both starters. Maybe we get lucky with our freshmen.

What is totally junked out for Lemonis is that we have no Junior class of pitchers - product of coaching volatility. I think Butch took all our great juniors to Auburn.

Jack Owen and Elliott Johnson would have been useful for us no question about that.
