And stood around looking at the sideline until we get a false start. Who else saw that coming? Any Jr High Coach in America knows you get under center and sneak the m'fer into the end zone.

I seen it dawg

Not only that, you got a rested Hill one of top RB in country ready to go and you change the play at last minute like you don't know what to call? Combine that with delay of game of first play of game? This is on our playcaller/head coach. Man, I hate American watched us look so dumb.

I was just about to start a thread about this.

I have been on the fence for the most part on whether or not Joe is the right coach for us. This pushed me off. Its a freaking foot from the end zone. Run the 17er in. He tries to be cute with this ?check with me? shit and it does way more harm than good. That tells me he?s stubborn. And stubborn coaches dont last long. I hope we part ways with him before a Croom-like tank, but Im afraid thats what it will take

That’s one of my biggest issues, just run the damn called play. Taking way too much time to run a damn play, by the time the ball is snapped the defense is either reset or there is a false start/delay of game penalty, it’s crazy and idiotic

We do not do anything quickly. Whenever we need to hurry up and snap to avoid a booth replay we are so ho hum. Gus always has Auburn taking advantage of things in the game like that, and part of why they have been so successful over the years

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger cluster 17 in my life as a football fan.

Plus our OL is gassed bc they stay squatted for 30 seconds at a time

The fact that Joe refuses to run QB sneak has cost us several time. You can't expect your 300 lb OLineman to stay in their stance for 30 seconds.

QBs under center is not part of our offense. Moorhead made that clear last year.

The fact that we have to shotgun snap the ball even when in victory formation drives me crazy. QB sneak is almost unstoppable with a big QB like Shrader and a road grater at center like Williams. This is yet another example of Joe’s stubbornness. His check with me offense allows the D to dictate the play call. Defenses have effectively baited him into bad plays by giving him a false look pre snap. It’s clear as day that Joe is going to be another in a long line of coaches that has allowed his ego and inability to adapt to prevent him from ever reaching his potential at State.

I went ape shit. That play alone tells me all I need to know. 3 major issues on 1 play.

Well.... you know.... always have to read the safety and check the coverage at the goal line. ***

I'm willing to bet that everybody posting in this thread had a bad gut feel about what was about to happen on that the goal line.

There’s a YouTube video from his time at Fordham where he talks about how dumb it is to go under center in goal line and not use a read play. I literally laughed when I saw it.

It's loud down on the field at Jordan-Hare anyway , and even louder in that end zone area. Just call a play and snap the ball and don't try to spend time on trying to read the defense. All that does on trying to read the defense on the goal line just ups the percentage of an offensive disaster. which of course we experienced.

True, and that is another reason he is over his head as HC.

I was yelling at the tv. First you’re in shotgun and then you’re looking for a play call and/or audible from the sideline. Jesus H Christ they’re going to be in a stacked goalie front. Pick a play and run that mother 17r. QB sneak it or hand it to Hill.
