Football Trivai:
Tom Landry took a recruiting trip to MSU when he was a senior in High School. Ultimately he signed with the Longhorns. The lure was that his friend John Tripson was an All-American. The main reason for not enrolling at State was the distance involved from Mission, Texas to Starkville, MS.

Never knew that about ol Tom.

Baseball Trivia:
Del Unser, who played baseball at State in the late sixties, was a two time all SEC, and played fourteen years in the majors. https://hailstate.com/sports/2016/5/25/933792.aspx
That article says that Unser's number is retired at State.

Here's the question: What other numbers are retired for MSU baseball?

Is his number retired as in no one else allowed to wear it or just on the wall with Raffy, Will, Boo Ferris maybe?, and a couple of other guys.

Retired numbers that I can think of:

Polk, Clark, Palmeiro, Thigpen, Brantley, Ferriss, and Unser.

I think that's it.

Edit to add Paul Gregory- I think.

Retired jerseys. Not numbers. Just for clarification

Not sure what a "retired jersey" is. Retired number I understand.
