Incredibly confusing.

Ranked 20th this week.

The college football media is awful. Just awful.

They only rank based on name, perception and what they want to be not what is. Been 20 years since UT is relevant but this weekend, media was clamoring over football needing UT to get back. Why I ask? Football hasn't missed them and goes on. MSU is quietly a top half SEC team and since playoff era, is #4 in SEC in total wins.

The only worthwhile ranking anymore is the committee, everything else is just fluff

Of course but the AP rankings determine game times and coverage.

It's an illegitimate way of the media imposing their will on the sport

They should abolish polls altogether and just use computer rankings and let the chips fall where they may.

But ONLY IF the computer polls are based on mathematically sound formulas. IE, not the old BCS "computer polls"

Yes yes yes!

ETA with all the metrics and stats available and we depend on the media to tell us who the best teams are? Just senseless

Not to be that guy, but at this point, beyond Bama, Clemson, Georgia, , Oklahoma , and Ohio State, does it really matter. College football is a wasted dream of what could have been great

Nothing wrong with our game time with Auburn. 6:00 on ESPN.

Wisconsin is a top team in the nation. Losing on the road to a top 10 team by 21 should net you about 20-25 with no other losses. Triple option games are not good barometers of where other teams will play against you as long as you win. Yea it was ugly. Michigan is one of the 30 best teams in the country. Teams on average just look worse this year with the less love practice time.

Yep, I don't really care if MI or TN ever get back. College football will go on without them. However, for the sake of the game, we do need some new blood at the top every once and a while. Although it was a flawed writer voting system, I miss the old days when the Sugar, Rose, Orange, Cotton bowls meant a team had a chance at the NC. I'm just tired of the current bowl system. We have disinterested kids playing in front of empty stadiums. It's boring as anything.
