random thought - do the Saints trade a conditional 6th or 7th round pick for him to bring him home in case Teddy just stinks and Brees takes longer to recover than expected?

I would in a heartbeat. Eli > bridgewater.

Hill is better then bridgewater.

Yep. I'd ride with Hill and let it roll.

Teddy looked bad in the preseason and that carried over to Sunday. Everyone loves Hill but I'm not sure what it would look like to rely on his arm

I don't think they would've brought in Teddy if they thought Hill was going to be the guy. I hope they don't dump a pick for a 5 week fix. Bree's will be back by mid season. Find a way to split the next 6 weeks and you can still push for a division title.

Are they benching him so he doesn't have a career losing record? He's at 116-116.

Agreed. If Brees is only out 4-8 weeks, I don't trade for Eli.

It would be fun getting footage of Eli getting sacked in a Saints uniform a dozen times. That way we could have a father and son highlight reel of Archie and Eli getting creamed by NFL DE and LBs while playing for the Saints.

Who knows how long Brees will really be out. We are talking thumb ligaments and his ability to grip a football. Should be 6-8 weeks but you just never know. Might depend on how teddy looks the next few weeks

The older you get, the harder it is to recover from crap like that too. Worries me a little. Feels like the beginning of the end of the Brees era. I'm not ready for that.

Eli is really, really bad. He only kept playing for the Giants because of the image they wanted to manufacture.

Assuming he hangs around for the whole season, he will become the highest earner all time in the NFL - approx $250M. Who is #2? Peyton. No home town discounts.

He helped get two Lombardi's though.

I've heard six weeks is what they are expecting. I think there is a bye week thrown in there too.

True. But he's also going to get top of the line training and he is an extremely motivated person. More motivated than your average 40 year old for sure. What I've heard was that this year was supposed to be his last.

That's crazy to me that Eli freaking Manning is the highest earner of all time. Over Brady, Peyton, Brees, Rothlisberger, and Rodgers?

I need his agent.

Eli, luckiest and worse NFL QB to ever win two Superbowls.
