I caught Rosebowl on the Out of Bounds show.

So it seems Stevens is taking things easy in practice but Steve feels like Stevens will start Saturday. I hope Stevens is near 100% for Saturday.

Also discussed, if Stevens can?t go..... who do you play?

I'd save KT's games for emergencies. If he hasn't played by the 9 game, then just find a role for him in every game.

We've given up 5 sacks and passed the ball 51 times... 5/51 = .098.

We've sacked our opponents 3 times and they've passed 66 times... 3/66 = .045

We've been sacked at about twice the rate we're sacking opponents.

Several of those sacks could have been avoided as TS needs to learn to see the whole field prior to the snap and keep the clock in his head running at all times. Definitely something that can be corrected.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if our defense "improves" at least some for four games with Gay and Murphy back. The real question I have is how much. Oddly enough the DT's have been OK but the LB's and DE's which we all thought would be a strength this year have struggled making tackles. If I'm Shoop I may try to look at switching Marquiss Spencer and Courtney Rivers at least some since Spencer has been our best pass rusher thus far.

IMO not having Murphy at the very least limits our versatility with nickle/dime packages which we saw a lot of last year. I'm not sure if Joe will start Murphy over Morgan but at the very least I would probably platoon them.

At any rate, as I have said before I suspect that any defensive stats this year that we have are going to be kind of uneven just because of the suspensions. Which may partially explain why we've given up more points in the fourth quarter. It could very well be a depth issue as that is when some of the suspended players would have gotten reps or they would have gotten reps earlier allowing us to rest our starters throughout the game.

We'll see what happens Saturday but I suspect we will do fairly well since we have in a small sample size done better against the run than the pass based on the early returns. I think we're looking at a team similar to our 2014 team in that we will have a pretty good offense but the defensive side of the ball will give up points at times and have some solid moments as well. Of course, we won't have the memorable run in all likelihood that 2014 had but we seem to be constructed in a similar way.

Taking 2 of Fitz' game stats from last year against ULL & TAM - 28/43/484 yds (11.25/att), 4 TDs, 0 Ints. 65.12%. That ain't shabby either and one of those was an SEC school.
