First, I think the concept is a smart idea. Give the kids somewhere to extend the tailgate atmosphere.

However who thought throwing some scaffolding up was ever going to work and be safe? That’s just dumb and very dangerous. Stupid. If you are going to do this, it needs to be a real reconstruction of that area with the proper support beams and safety features.... etc.

Yep. Those stands are on the North end facing South so the tents will only provide shade for 11am games.

If you look at the renderings and read the PR about how many people would be able to use them, it became obvious to me that this was designed to be a way to reduce seating and creatively mask it. And it failed. So now they will still have a half full student section with ugly tents. Awesome.

I see these at every baseball tournament or showcase I go to. You can get them at Dicks or Walmart pretty cheap and it only takes a couple of minutes to set them up lol

I just assumed the decks would be set up in a concourse area on a flat surface, kinda like we did with the cabana things. What morons thought constructing decks, to hold hundreds of people, on metal poles on top of existing bleachers was a good idea? Da f goin on

I'm not going to link to hottytoddy.com out of principle - but their opening PR about the Decks was that their would be 8 decks with capacity for 100 on each. An article yesterday that indicated the new tents would be available to 2,450 students.
So, it looks like they were chopping 1600+ seats from the student section that holds 7,500. Isn't that about 20%?
