Trigger warning- it is hot in Mississippi. It is hot in Mississippi in September. It is hot in Mississippi in September at 2:30. Every. Single. Year. We good?

I have never seen so much weaping and gnashing of teeth over a game that we knew was going to be hot for almost a year. Get some water, find some shade when you need to.

No body is complaining about the weather. You're right, it's this way & is going to be this way EVERY.SINGLE. YEAR

THUS...... it makes completely logical sense to invest in DWS to create a more comfortable, louder environment

Imagine how nice this would be. I don't know how any MSU fan disagree with this

Athletic department revenue - $103,858,865
Athletic department expenses - $89,794,392
Profit - $14,064,473
https://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances/

Current CBS SEC football deal - $55 million per year. 55 mil/14 = $3.92 mil per school per year

New deal should be near $300 mil per year in 2024

New TV Deal in 2024 should offer each school = 21.42 mil per year

https://www.outkickthecoverage.com/cbss-sec-deal-was-a-steal-what-happens-next/
https://athleticdirectoru.com/articles/sec-cbs-contract-value/

At least $14 mil in profit + 21.42 mil in new CBS deal = $35.42 million profit per year starting in 2024

Do they really need that check your asking me write?

This isn't the ole Mittittippi Tate some of you were raised in. We have to think differently now

Did Jerry Jones ask Cowboy fans to donate money today to pay Zeke?

No. You know why? Because the NFL makes enough money to pay players just like the MSU athletic department does & will most certainly make enough money to make DWS an adequate facility for fans in the Mississippi climate

I hate to say it but NFL tickets and the cost of attending is way over price and moves like this to pay Zeke is only going to make it worse.

Well by your thought process.. We should have just over $69 milllion laying around not being used based on what is leftover every year after expenses for the past 14 years of data reported by USA Today.
Which I don't believe at all... Somethings not getting allocated as expenses I would guess...or the money is being used in a different way.
I will say it is interesting to see how our revenue and expenses have changed over the past 8 years with the ESPN deal and the success of the programs overall.

Maybe we do. There's no way for us fans to know

However, what we do know is that a BIG payday is coming in 2024. I realize that the ink hasn't dried on that deal but we've got to be making plans now so there isn't a lag

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the SEC isn't on CBS after 2023.

Does the SEC office get a portion like they do from the bowl games?

No. He gets that via them buying tickets and seat licenses. Along w corporate sponsorship and tv money. We int turn get money via bulldog club donors, tickets and tv money. But if we just quit getting monetary gifts we couldn't operate the way we do now.

I wondered the same. The articles don't insinuate that it does, but I'm not sure.

I'd bet that the rev/exp from USAT doesn't include debt service. And I have a feeling that money seen as "profit" is probably paying debt on DWS, Dudy Noble and other facilities improvements made in the past 5 years.

Why would you think that?

Why wouldn't our monthly note on facilities be included in expenses?

Because it seemed like a lot of money not being allocated to an expense and with the number of projects we've had recently made me think that could be an explanation.

However, going back and reading the USAT article explaining the calculations - it looks like debt service is factored in.

The SEC gets a share of all TV revenue. The money left over after normal expenses is likely used to retire capital debt from construction bonds. This would not be a regular expense.
