Someone may need to hire Schexnayder. No other way to explain him being a captain other than work ethic, leadership, & generally being a great teammate

Looks like Tommy has convinced his teammates as well as the coaches.

I've been around Schexnayder a couple of times, he is just one of those guys you can't help but like. First time I ever met him, after he left, my wife said " that kid is going to be somebody someday".

I've heard the first thing TS did when he arrived on campus was go around and meet with every member of the team. He let them know he's here to win.

The wool is getting thick boys. If we come out and drop 50 or 60 this weekend while throwing the ball for 300 look out.

Who all votes on captains? This says a lot to me. I’m ready to kick some a$$ and take names.

Not sure what you can take from it even if we meet those marks. We had 276 passing and 66.7 comp % last season with 56 points. Probably the only take aways you could use after a mismatch like this are bad ones. Kentucky is when we find out about our team imo

I was thinking more like Auburn. Everybody that was special for UK is gone. And they will be in our house.

Maybe so, but I'll be pumped if we dominate Kentucky. I think we can be good, and still lose at auburn

If we hold our own against AU (in Jordan-Hare) and beat them or come damn close I'll have high expectations for the rest of the season.

I will too. That would be a great sign

We need to kick their ass like we did Ark or UM last year. The proof will be if we can actually run our offense against Auburn's defense. That is the first upper tier defense we will see. I don't expect UK to have a top 25 defense and we kicked most team's ass if they had a defense outside of the top 25 last year.

Exactly. I expect to beat UK by three touchdowns. AU will be the big test.

You can absolutely find out things about your team within the context of any opponent. Executing against any opponent is never a bad thing.

Pretty simple explanation actually. He represents special teams.

So what does each person represent? Stevens (offensive skill position), Williams (Offense), Thompson (Defense), Kody (special teams), Cole (defensive backfield). Is that how it breaks out or do they just vote for 2 on offense, 2 on defense, and 1 special teams?

2 offense, 2 defense, 1 special. At least according to Joe they do two Spring Captains which were Erroll and Williams. Then they voted for 2 additional fall captains and 1 specialist.

USM and Kansas St will be decent teams. USM is going to be really good on defense. If we hang up 50 on them we can play on offense. They have some athletes on D experienced ones too. Their coaches were bragging on the defense all recruiting season, thats not something they have normally done

I think it says something that Stevens was voted team captain over Farrod Green who has been here for 5 years and went to SEC media day. Not a knock on Farrod but an acknowledgement of Stevens.
