MSbaseballfan on facebook mentioned that this kid from Texas decommitted from SCe. Rated the 30th overall prospect by PG. Plays on a Louisiana travel team with some of our commits. Listed as a SS/3B. He is rated pretty high, so there is the draft issue, but the fact that he decommitted from SCe might indicate that school is a real possibility.

If he were dead set on pro ball, why not just stick with the commitment? According to MSbf, we are after him. Might be something to keep an eye on.

Well, we would be seen as a school that would be tougher to sign away from than SCe. Therefore, slightly more leverage.

He still has 2 years of HS ball, anything can happen to his stock between now and then. I'm sure he's not dead set on pro ball at this point because there's no way to know what his exact draft prospects will be 2 years from now.

I don't see the decommitment as any kind of sign he's coming to college.
