I believe you breakdown is correct. I tried to find the espn article, but I couldn't find it again.

Well we still have him relatively cheap compared to other SEC head coaches. Good job by Cohen on getting the contract extension done.

3 million a year in Miss is really good.

Heck, it just popped up in my espn thread. No idea for the delay.

Penn State will be looking for a Head Coach in a year or two....20 Players in the Transfer Portal is not a good omen for Franklin

To me incentives should be you get your base up to 7 wins and then you get a bonus incentive amount for every win above that in the regular season. You could also throw something in certainly for an SEC championship or bowl win if you want. Wins are all that a coach can really control though. COY is crap and is a popularity contest. Even winning the West is very dependent on how good the other teams in the division are. The one year we went we were 6-2. With Saban in this division you would never sniff the SEC championship game at 6-2.

Double his salary through a bonus if he can win the SEC. Hell put him down for a 6 mil bonus if he won it.

Most of us would be pretty happy with a $100K/year increase.

Yep, that work out to 8,333.33/mo. or 277.77/day, that will take care of your incidentals.

I guess I hadn't looked at NCAA football coaches' salaries in a few years and was really surprised. $3M/year was top 10-15 when we boosted Mullen up to it, now $3M #44. $4M is #24, and there are 13 coaches making 5 million per year or more.

I heard Moorhead arrived about noon with his agent and looked over the contract. Cohen and the agent waited until 4:59:59 until Moorhead made a decision on the contract.

Moorhead will have to prove himself before Penn State would even consider him.

Looked it up... 16 have announced a transfer. Of the 16, 7 were P5 schools (us, Oregon, Boston college, Virginia, Utah, Texas tech, and cal) and 9 were non-P5 (Dayton, James Madison, Dayton, usm, Charlotte, umass, Delaware, temple, and Long Island). They added 1 transfer.

Some of these players, they wanted to keep, I'm sure. A lot of this though was probably a house cleaning

The ones they wanted to keep was probably more along the lines of depth similar to Saban a few years ago wanting to prevent one of his 2nd string DBs from going to UGA. They aren't the starter but at the end of the day, an injury can push them into being the starter. It is just like Stevens at PSU. It seems that their QB took a big jump in the Spring so Franklin wouldn't promise Stevens the job. He could have been the backup or starter if he beat him out or Clifford has an injury. That is a lot to ask someone that is good enough to start at a lot of P5 schools.
