He was injured at State so he probably always had the ability when healthy. Hopefully they have Ethan Small and Woodruff in the lineup in the future.

Wes Rea tweeted out a picture the other day of him striking out Renfroe. They were both Wes's roommates in college, which is cool. Woodruff hit 100 on that pitch! Dakota Hudson has turned into the Cardinals most reliable starter.

Woodruff looks legit with a bright future. Hudson is getting by on a lot of luck. Those K and BB rates are lurking and his overall numbers will collapse sooner than later if he doesn't improve them.

Edit: I hope Hudson has a long productive career as an MLB starter, but before anyone jumps on me for hating on him, he has the 11th worst BB and 8th worst K rate among MLB starters. Guys with comparable K and BB rates tend to ultimately end up with an era closer to 5.00 than Hudson's current 3.36 mark. He may avoid bad luck all season, but he isn't building a long term MLB career without significant improvement in both areas, and currently hasn't shown progression in either area.

Woodruff is tremendous & one of the best under 30 pitchers in MLB

He was hurt during our CWS run in 2013, but what most people don't realize is that he's a tremendous hitter that's very similar to Mitch Moreland. He's hitting .333 this year right now in only 38 plate appearances, but, if you watch the Brewers play, he's a really really good hitter.

It's not a stretch at all to say that he would've been in the 3rd best hitter on that 2013 team behind Renfroe & Frazier. He's got power as well.

And Woodruff is hitting .333 with a .351 OBP and .444 slugging
