Not sure who came up with this. Kinda ugly. But sends the message. Somebody needs to put it on that umps Facebook page.

The coaches and players at the CWS should put a "11.7" decal on a their helmets to raise awareness of the ridiculous scholarship limitations - most casual fans and Vandy players don't know there is such a limit

They should just forget it. Let's move on.

That T-Shirt is a NCAA Violation, you can’t use a likeness of a Student Athlete.

Somewhere, Ron Polk just felt it move.

Purchasing that could render Mac ineligible. Can?t use his likeness.

Wouldn't the school or the player have to be involved? What would stop us from printing a bunch of tua shirts and buying them to get him suspended for our game?

MSU would have to report it and compliance would have to investigate.

Somebody didn't do very much (if any) research before designing that shirt. When the MSU administration finds out about it, they won't be pleased either. They probably didn't plan on a lawyer, or lawyers being involved in this, when they were designing the shirt, but once the NCAA or MSU finds out about it, they should have a lot more problems than just on trying to market the shirt.

Maybe this is Coach Polk's blog.

Coach Polk is a big reason I'm a fan for life. Back before the Internet, he let MSU soccer fans use a satellite connected TV in the baseball offices to watch the World Cup in their home language. During Germany vs Yugoslavia, He walked in, cigar in mouth, said hello.

Also gave me a ball with team signatures, still have it. That's how you lock in a 10 year-old as a life long fan.

Not sure. Technically that is just the silhouette of a player with his arm raised and an ump. No name, no number, really no facial likeness. While everyone knows who it is suppose to be I'm not sure this would meet the criteria but I don't know how the rule is worded.

What a stupid T-shirt. Who would wear that?

How would it differ from a picture in the newspaper?

Players can't profit from newspaper photos.

Well shit, chances are great that Bracky's already reported it.

11point7 is a random NCAA baseball blog. It’s not MSU related from what I know. Still shouldn’t do it or sell it.

Neither Mac nor the university is selling the shirt so he/we can't profit off of his name, image, or likeness from this t-shirt. Pretty sure MSU and Mac can't be affected by people buying the shirt.

Technically if they didn?t sell any of these, would it still be considered a violation? I can?t imagine anyone in their right mind spending $30 bucks on this thing. I?m betting they don?t sell a single one.

Where is it established a player would benefit from this one?

Its not established, but it would require being investigated to see where money from the purchases was going.

Yeah, but they have to do an investigation to make sure they aren't linked.

I'm making a shirt with the team photos of the other 7 CWS teams and selling it for 1 cent.

Therefore, all other teams are ineligible and we are national champs by default.

Bracky probably already self imposed Mac sitting out the rest of the CWS now.
