I think Louisville is the best value bet. I like our chances though. I putt $300 on us last week when lines came out for before the Supers.

Call me crazy, but with those lines to me it would make sense to put money on Vandy, Ark, AND State.

I would say there is a VERY good chance at least one of those 3 win it all.

You would at least win what you put down as long as one of them win it all. Would win more if it ended up being State.

Could even put a smaller amount on UL and still come out on top.

If I had to pick one it would be the Hogs.

Yep, they would appear to have the easier path to the championship round. I'm hoping we have saved all of our wins against Vandy and Ark for the CWS since we were 0-4 against those 2 teams combined this year.

I don't think anyone is going to get out of our side of the bracket going 3-0.

Got this off of the Pack. I’d say putting money on us is a pretty safe bet. We are the hottest team batting and the hottest team pitching in the field of eight right now. Also, if you were going to pick a sleeper that might be Louisville.

NCAA tournament stats going into CWS
team batting average

Mississippi St. 0.322
Louisville 0.320
Arkansas 0.319
Florida St. 0.314
Auburn 0.314
Vanderbilt 0.311
Texas Tech 0.300
Michigan 0.264

team earned run average
Mississippi St. 2.20
Louisville 2.32
Texas Tech 3.04
Michigan 3.27
Florida St. 3.38
Arkansas 3.57
Vanderbilt 4.17
Auburn 4.17

This is more impressive once you realize we had the toughest SR matchup of any of these teams save Michigan. It's not like we've had some cakewalk through the Tournament. Miami once, then Stanford twice.

Lot of risk hoping to win pretty much nothing

Haha that's what I was thinking. You put money on all 3...so you can get hopefully get your money back?

You would win more than just your money back.

For example, if you bet $100 on each team (Vandy, Arkansas, State), and Vandy wins, you win $300 and lose $200. So you win/net $100 (or $150 if State wins). Minus juice of course.

If you bet $200 on each team you win/net $200 (or $300 if State wins), and so on.

I'll take an extra $100+ sitting on the couch any day....

And if none of them win, you lose $300/600 trying to win $100/200

Well obviously, but I find it hard to see a team other than those three winning it all, and if you are going to bet on State, you might as well hedge the bet on the other teams you think are capable.

Also, like I said you could always hedge with a smaller bet on a team like UL. If you put $100 on them you win $800. You would have a much better than 50% chance to win $200+

Pretty big risk, but its gambling after all. If you only bet on State your odds are obviously much lower and you still have to place $100+ bet to win $350+. Different strokes for different folks, but I would much prefer greater than 50% odds to win $200 over slim odds to win $350.

If you like state, vandy, and ark, why not just bet $100 on each one in the opening game? Bet money line... hit 2 of the 3 and you should clear money (guess... haven't saw the odds)

I think Louisville upsets Vandy in the first game. Personally, I think it’s us and Arkansas in the final and we win the first two this time.

Because winning the whole thing and winning just the first game are different. You can win the whole thing coming out of the loser's bracket...

Would you have thought Coastal Carolina in 2016? At this point it is ANYBODYS to win.

If I had to pick one it would be the Hogs.

Problem with the Hogs is they rely heavily on the long ball. TD Ameritrade is where the long ball goes to die or turn into long loud outs.

I would say the team who hits a lot of doubles is built for a tournament in this stadium. State (147) and Vandy (143) are the clear leaders in this statistic. I hope State edges Vandy out in pitching, so there's that. Hail State

I actually like our chances on our side due to not having to play Vandy in a 3 game series. Winning the 1st game and beating them in game 2 forces them to use their pitchers one extra game. Gives us the upper hand. Playing Vandy in finals does not provide the advantage previously mentioned.
