Louisville smokes ECU, Michigan beat UCLA and Duke absolutely destroyed Vandy.

Call me crazy but I think the beat downs continue and Stanford feels the pain train whenever we get to take the field today.

Let this be a lesson, though - it is baseball, and you better be ready for anybody. I think we forget Stanford is ranked 4th. I like our chances but it won't be easy.

Well our team has been there before the last three years so we should be prepared for anything and it helps we have Mangum on the team who was part of the 2016 bed shitting against Arizona so I think we will be okay.

I still think UCLA and Vandy are way overrated. Vandy feasted on the east teams, and UCLA feasted on a very down west coast.

This. With possible exception of Fayetteville, Starkville will easily be the toughest SR.

Glad to hear someone else echo those sentiments. It's one thing to be confident but it's another thing to be so brazen to think that we just show up and beat Stanford and that seems to be the consensus of the majority of our fans, at least from what I've seen. Make no bones about it, we may end up winning this regional but a cake walk it won't be.

Exactly. It’s not like our team hasn’t been there before. If we play our game and play great baseball, we will beat them in two games.

Vandy wouldn’t have won 23 games in the West and there isn’t that much separation between Vandy, us, and Arkansas.

It's one thing to say, 'I like our chances because of _____' and another to say, 'We will win because of _______'.

The first is fine and correct; the second is being a homer. Vandy could have said similar things. Just because you have players who have been there before doesn't guarantee you anything. If we were in Stanford's shoes, we'd be saying, 'These guys have no idea what's about to hit them. We're being overlooked and underrated and we're about to prove who we are.'

I love our team and think we'll win. I'm just saying, don't assume anything, especially against a team like Stanford.

I agree with this. I think we're the top 3 teams in the country. I'd be ok if you added UCLA into that group. But that's the point - there isn't much separation between us and Vandy, and they just got boat raced by Duke. Nothing is a given.

I think its a must win whether JT goes or not. At this point, they're all must wins. Plumlee is good enough, we have to hit.

Oh, I 100% percent agree you can’t overlook this team. I was just in a sleep deprived moment and decided to put my predictions on our regional out there.

Stanford is one hell of a team. And make no mistake if any of our pitchers make a mistake, they will absolutely punish them. However, Stanford hasn’t faced what they are about to face either.

Yep, just proves how hard it is in baseball to go 3-0/4-1 in a regional and then 2/3 vs a hot team in the Super. You can clearly be the best overall team and only have a 50/50 shot at going both

LSU has a majority of their fan base that have only stepped foot on campus for sporting events. The ones who actually went to school there are not as rowdy as the ones who did not. Similar to Bama sidewalk fans. Loose screws a plenty.

We probably have the fewest sidewalk fans in the SEC, with the possible exception of Vanderbilt. When I was growing up, just about everybody I knew was an OM fan and most likely had never been near Oxford, even to see a game. That was when OM had a good team, allegedly with a couple of NCs, and when Archie was there.

You say that but FSU isn’t a good matchup for LSU when you look at the lineups and pitching. They have 6 lefties in their lineup and have some crafty left handed pitchers to give LSU’s lineup some fits. LSU has also burned up their bullpen pretty badly in this game. If FSU wins this first game, I think FSU wins this thing.

Yeah, the Dude was electric last weekend and caused a 1 run inning to be 3 for that Miami freshman pitcher. That’s going to be big this weekend. Can we use our home field to rattle Stanford into allowing 3-4 runs instead of just 1 in high leverage situations.
