And it certainly could have been higher as MacNamee, Eagan, and Halter were possibilities as well.

Meanwhile the greatest recruiting class in Ole Miss history had 8 players drafted.

We finished third in the country as far as having the most players drafted- I think UCLA and Vanderbilt were the only ones that had more.

Also with 10- Indiana. Who was coached by Chris Lemonis before he came to MSU.

Why was MacNamee not drafted?

Why was MacNamee not drafted?

SR corner outfielder. Teams run out of roster spots for non-versatile players.

Trevor Ezell from Arkansas has a greater beef than Mac.

...and Felipe Franks gets drafted by Boston even though he hasn't played baseball since the 11th grade.

Teams don't have enough minor league roster spots. Drafting guys like Felipe Franks is a way of passing without actually passing

Any ideas about 'who' stays and 'who' leaves?

A little surprised no one took a flier on Ezell but not many 5'8 infielders with shoulder issues out there

Olenik from OM not drafted after returning and turning down 17th round pick last year. Interesting

We've actually pretty much lost all of our recruits that were drafted pretty early in the game. So we actually have a good idea of who is coming already.

The interesting thing to me is all of our players that were drafted or recruits that were drafted I expect to go pro except for Tanner Allen.

If Halter signs a free agent deal- well OK. I think he would benefit from coming back IMO because he can only get better as a player and he can also start to learn how to pitch potentially. Would probably get the same amount of money either way.
Jared Johnson, Ethan Hearn, Jake Randa and Andre Tarver are all going pro.

MacNamee - Really, what's the difference in being drafted in round 20+ as a senior and not getting drafted at all? Seems like you could potentially have more options as a free agent than being drafted and given no choice but to accept some chump change.

If all those signees go pro so easily, then that seems like a major recruiting fail. We just can't sustain elite success losing recruits for cash that isn't life-changing.

The point about McNamee is correct. Money doesn't matter he was getting nothing. As far as recruits, you are missing the guys that could have been drafted and weren't that we were scared we might lose. So don't get all bent out of shape

You don't think he'll stick around to have a chance to play with Kamren?
