Scoring stats:

Miami scored 37 runs (9.25 av)in four games ended with a 2-2 record in the regional

State scored 23 runs (7.67 av) in three games ended 3-0.

CMU scored 11 runs (3.67 av) in three games finished 1-2

Southern scored 8 runs (4.0 av) in two games finished 0-2

conventional wisdom would have said that Miami should have won but "That's Baseball".

Too small of a sample size where 1 big game can skew the data. Probably need 30+ games before runs scored becomes a measure of success, plus it would need to be considered alongside runs allowed to determine run differential to really have worthwhile data.

Not really. All things aren't remotely close to even. Now had we played each other 5 times ok. But we didn't

If you take runs scored minus runs allowed, there's probably some correlation between wins and losses.**
