Watching the Oklahoma state game, and if you didn't already know, their stadium is flooded and they played the regional in OKC.

I know the dude won't flood, it's just for conversation sake.

Assuming both Memphis and Jackson are playing on the road, is it a slam dunk to play it in Jackson?

It looks like capacity is 8,500 for Jackson, and 10,000 for Memphis. I know we probably have a bigger alumni presence in Jackson.....but they are both basically the same distance away from Starkville and Memphis is a much larger city.

Just curious what people's preference would be. I would prefer Memphis myself.

Also I kinda just wanted to point out we would literally be downgraded if we had to play in either of these minor league stadiums. Amazing

I was noticing how bad the field looked in OKC and assumed it was because of all the rain they've been having. They've certainly had their share and then some. Same with that entire part of the country.

Ole Miss would hang a banner if we won a SR in their stadium

On a related note, this weekend?s Regional would have been the final games played at Oklahoma State?s stadium. They are building a brand new park that is set to open next year. The renderings of the new park look great. I think it?ll be a Top 5 park in the nation: http://www.ocolly.com/big12sports/photos-future-rendering-of-the-new-osu-baseball-stadium/collection_29188ee2-3399-11e8-9593-ffdb1e6895eb.html#2 (http://www.ocolly.com/big12sports/photos-future-rendering-of-the-new-osu-baseball-stadium/collection_29188ee2-3399-11e8-9593-ffdb1e6895eb.html#1)

Redbird Park, Columbus, MS. (if it's still there) State played 'home' games there while the now
'old Dude' was being built. Has/had bleachers for ~ 8-900 if they squeezed a little.

Ah yes, Redbird Field. I used to chase foul balls all the time there when I was a kid.

Didn't know that. looks nice. drives me nuts how the lf curves in and the right continues straight with a different curve at the end. just fitting the space looks like though.
Let's get a non-conf series with them going... good team. and close enough a bunch of texas dawgs could come up.

Just me or does that awning in center field come out over the field of play?
