Self should pitch to contact and not walk people.

MarketingBully

Self is a ground ball double play pitcher but the problem is our infield isn’t good defensively. Gilbert has been great tonight though starting two of them.

Duplantis was 25 hits behind Mangum entering the regionals. Unless Dullantis goes on a 1.000 type of run through the regionals I think he’s safe with the record.

Well, he did his job and saved us from using other arms there. Tomorrow Leibelt and others we pitched on Friday should be available. I think Plumlee will come in and give us a chance. Will be huge if we have similar approach we had tonight at the plate. No matter who we play I think we end it tomorrow.

Ethan Small has become my fave Bulldog hurler of all time. Eclipsing Brantley and Dubose.

Brantley Jones all time favorite pitcher. Wears a Archie Who Button on his His Hat. Beat the Rebs 1-0 to win the SEC and give them the double bird as he walks off the mound-striking out their last batter.

Let's just say he barely did his job. Relievers just can't come in and walk guys. It's not his fault. I just don't think he's totally back yet. I used to have plenty of confidence in him. I think we end it tomorrow too. Jake has got to get going too. Like now!!

Jake is pressing hard. He?s pulling off the ball as bad as he ever has. He is at his best looking to go away. Not sure if you can fix it at this point. He has to look middle away and shoot oppo gap. That will help him all around.

You are correct. He is obviously thinking about it. I would like to see him lay down a bunt leading off tomorrow.

Additionally, Skelton butchers the majority of borderline pitches. If someone worked with him on framing technique we would have 75-100 more strikeouts. He makes borderline strikes look like balls with the way he receives the ball. His bat more than makes up for it, but improving his receiving would help all pitchers.

That's not quite what I am seeing. It looks like he is trying to go the other way a lot and hitting it right at people. He flew out to left field and grounded out to the third baseman or shortstop tonight.

His hands and shoulders are opening up before the lower half of his body moves. His swing is disconnected. The lower half of your body is supposed to be pushed open by your shoulders and hands through in a rubber band type motion. His hands and shoulders are moving independently of lower body. Even if he does hit the ball the other way, the way he is pulling off will create lazy pop flies and dribblers.

Really Clark?

Q

His hands and shoulders are opening up before the lower half of his body moves. His swing is disconnected. The lower half of your body is supposed to be pushed open by your shoulders and hands through in a rubber band type motion. His hands and shoulders are moving independently of lower body. Even if he does hit the ball the other way, the way he is pulling off will create lazy pop flies and dribblers.

The only outside pitch he hit yesterday was a hard ground ball in the 5-6 hole. He was dead on it and the 3rd baseman made a nice play. Everything else he hit was inside pitches that he hit up the middle, 2 ground balls to 2nd and deep fly ball that was on time just too much lift. The first at bat was hard ground ball to first that he turned on. So really the only pitch you could try and diagnose as him flying open, he didn’t and hit it hard in 5-6 hole. Everything else was inside and hard on the ground, except the deep fly ball that was close to a gap double.
