They are starting Jerome Bohannon III (3-5, 6.63 ERA). Saving their best pitcher Finney for game 2. Interesting choice.

If they want to try and get as far as they can (which should be the realistic goal of a team like theirs), that's what they have to do.

A regional final would be a big step for their program. Best chance at a victory is in game 2, so they need their best pitcher to have a chance to advance beyond 2 games.

A weird strategy for sure, but a regional final for a program like that would be huge. If it works out this could be a strategy you see more 4 seeds use going forward. Of course it could backfire and they could get SWAC'd and go 2 and que.
