hit a buzzer beater under the basket for Indiana Fever to win her first career WNBA game. 3-4 for 11 pts 6 reb 5-10 free throws. Looks like it will take some time for things to slow down for her - didn't start & only played 14 minutes w/ 5 fouls - but she will be the highlight of opening night in the league.

Anriel Howard made Seattle's roster partially due to Breanna Stewart from UConn's season ending injury that opened a final roster spot. Coach's quotes sound like they like her enough to develop her but she needs to be more of a 2/3 than post player.

WNBA league pass was only $16.99 for the season so I got it to watch these two. Wish Victoria Vivians was healthy to make it really interesting. Not bad compared to $300 for NFL Sunday Ticket. Plus if you've been watching Vic's team for a few years there are a lot of recognizable players in the league from the SEC and the NCAA tournament. If you need a team to hate, Las Vegas has A'ja Wilson, coached by Bill Laimbeer, & were just gifted the WNBA's 6'8 leading scorer because she didn't want to play for Dallas anymore. Also have NCAA career leading scorer Kelsey Plum from Washington a few years ago but she wasn't too bad. Say what you want about the WNBA, but Mississippi State is about to have players littered across the league like we do in the NFL and that's enough to get me to watch.

Interesting article about the WNBA. Even though there are several notable injuries this year, including Breanna Stewart and Maya Moore, the league is still full of lots of talent.

One reason for this is that it only has 12 teams, even though pretty much every high school and college that has a men's team also has a women's team. Imagine how hard it would be to make an NBA roster if there were 12 teams instead of 30.

She's gonna be a household name for the WNBA.
