The hit batters review that went our way, the LSU coach was upset and from that point on we had a couple of bad calls that did not get turned over.

We had a thread on here talking about it already. Some people are against the rule and some say possessing the ball is crucial for recording the out. I think maybe you should treat it like a foul ball.

Edited to add: If it was treated like a foul ball then any strike that was a pitch in the dirt would be a foul ball because the catcher doesn't catch it cleanly so that really doesn't work either. In the end, the rule forces the defense to actually play defense to record the out so it makes more sense to me now.

I am surprised at how many reasonable people there are in the thread. I would have expected wayyy more of them to be whining about it rather than taking the position that their players should just execute.

Or the 1st pitch strike 8" off the plate to mangum that made him swing at the next and pop it up, leaving 2 in scoring position.
They also allowed Hillard to shimmy all the way until the pitch was thrown on every pitch.
They let their starter take 45 seconds per pitch.
