Looks like D1 is hell bent on pairing us with USM, why not send USM to Baton Rouge? Shorter drive.

Plus, most of the USM fans I know have LSU caps, so they cheer for two teams in Baton Rouge

Does D1 determine who goes where?

Honestly, I'd say that the odds of USM coming back to Starkville may not be all that great considering that they already played in Starkville earlier in the year.

That?s if USM even makes it. They?re going to have to win their conference tournament to even make the field. However, I do think that if they do come out of C-USA then they?ll be in Starkville. The NCAA is all about money and storylines and the way our series was played early in the year it would be a no brainer for the committee to send them here. Saying all that, I don?t think they will win the C-USA tourney. They have not looked particularly good on the mound all season and Wallner alone can not carry them through the postseason

Their RPI is down to 44. Lost both to Florida Atlantic so far this weekend who now leads the conference.

They are probably an at large 3 seed right now.

There are a lot of publications putting USM in a regional with us and like the rest of you I just don't see it happening. If they even make it they will be a bubble 3 seed and would prolly be sent far off.
