1st time an in race foul has ever been a disqualification.... crazy shit.

On top of that horse who was declared winner was 65-1 long shot. Biggest long shot to win derby I believe.

Cost me money. I had just won $200 on Maximum Security

What happened?

Jockey said horse got spooked by crowd and went across a few lanes. He made contact with another horse and the stewards determined that it impedes some horses path. Never happened before in a derby.

First time I've ever bet on the Derby, I bet on the winner....and he gets disqualified. Sometimes I think I'm the reason State has never won it all. I'm jinxed

How much does the Kentucky Derby pay out in bets now, compared to what they would have paid out had they not issued the DQ? The Derby really has to be transparent about this. I suspect this may turn into a huge legal battle.

I’m a Steward but the decision had nothing to do with my wager on Country House.

Rubbin’s Racin’

Yep That jockey was blocking like Earnhart did. Problem is blocking and rubbin is allowed in NASCAR not in Horse Racing and he did do it and intentionally.

My friend was jumping up and down cause he won alot more than 200. Then dam near heart attack when we told him it was a DQ not not 2nd place. Talk about the "Thrill of Victory and the Agony of Defeat". But he called it when the out of lane excursions occured.

This right here.

Now consider today’s culture.

End of story.

There's probably been a couple more egregious fouls on winners in the last 20 years that went uncalled.

Probably will start seeing video clips coming out the next few days. Just a guess.

They got it right. I saw it when it happened.

And the jockey and trainer knew it in the interview before it was announced.

I love it.

Horse racing is ancient NASCAR. Can’t believe people even watch it.

Except it generally has a more sophisticated audience (they get drunk on mint juleps instead of beer). The Queen has been to the Derby; probably never been to Daytona or Talledega.
