What time does the game start? After game 2, I suddenly realized how much I hate 7 inning games. Hail State!

Time for Westburg and McNamee to get out of this funk!

Another low scoring game.

1-0 let's go.

Not a must win game, but it's pretty close

Maybe they seeing eye single gets Mac out of the funk. It took a hit and run to force him to swing at a decent pitch.

Someone may have already mentioned it somewhere, but why was game 2 shortened? Is it weather related or is it customary for double header games to be shortened? Just doesn't seem right when we could've had two more innings to try and win it.

Didn't then1st baseman run infront of Skelton as he made the turn?

Aggies just threw a pitch about 57 feet.

One thing I?ve noticed with out guys is they do not read down angle on a pitch and take extra bases. Jake should be standing on 2nd right now. No excuse for that.

What? The outfielder threw the ball immediately to 2nd. If anything Gilbert should have scored easily.

Doubleheaders are two 9 inning games. The exception is when the doubleheader is on the last day of the series. Then it is two 7 inning games. Since this was a Thursday-Saturday series, today's doubleheader will be 7 innings each. That's the rule.

Our hitting just sucks on the road. It puts a ton of pressure on our pitching and when we play a good hitting team at their place we get swept. Our hitters will have to show up next weekend.

ShotgunDawg

Tanner Allen has a tough task this weekend vs A&M's lefties but Westburg looks lost.

Lefties give us trouble because they turn Mangum and Rowdy around, Allen can't hit them, and, if they can pitch inside, Westburg has a massive hole.

We haven’t battled today. We battle at home. How many strikeouts have been looking? How many fastball strikes have we just watched go by? We don’t do that at home. We do that on the road.

At least Plumlee is having another good outing. A couple of weeks ago, we had 2 starters and a bunch of mental midgets. Plumlee has stoned up and competed the last few weeks, and that's great to see.

Also, the bullpen essentially has been given the week off with these two 7 inning games, which is good as well. Save as many bullets as we can for postseason.

On the flip side it?s better to struggle now and win ugly, instead of struggling in post season.

If Mac and Westburg can come around with the pitching being more solid, we are a tough team to beat.

Good series win but we need better competitive at bats on the road. We put too much pressure on our pitching staff on the road. Need better competitive at bats if we want to win the series next weekend at Ole Miss. And btw, why not bring the closer in the game for the last inning instead of Plumlee who they saw well the last two innings. Coach Lemonis almost lost us that game but luckily Leibelt got us out of there just in time.

They are Tennessee and the series went very similar to that one. Lost 2-1 and 1-0. Had our hitters been competitive in both those games, we are probably being looked at hard as the number 1 overall seed and fighting for an SEC championship.

I think there is enough data for us to realize that we aren't nearly as potent an offense on the road as at home. Very important we maintain national seed status so we don't have to go on the road to make Omaha.

We are at 15 conference wins. I don’t see how they can keep us from a national seed with 18 or 19 SEC wins. That’s just going 2/3 over the next two weeks. We are at 38-10 right now. I could easily see us at least finishing the regular season at 6-2 and 44-12 overall. That should pretty much sew up a national seed.

Our SEC road games- RPI 30 (UF), 9 (UT), 4 (ARK), and 17 (A&M). Also A&M and UT are the top two ranked pitching staffs in the SEC right now. The fact that we have won three out of four road series so far is impressive. We're not bad on the road- but we're even better in Starkville.

Georgia would have been by far the best pitching staff in the league had we not put 34 runs on them last week.
