Sorry about the delay fellas, busy day in the life. Also, last weekend I should have checked back in but I was literally either fishing, sleeping, or drankin all weekend. Caught fish but didn?t fare how I wanted in the tourney. This weekend I?m doing family taco night Sunday and GOT that night.

Prediction? Pain.

Hiked from the base to the top of Lookout Mountain with a bunch of my coworkers this afternoon. Roughly 1400' ascent -- started around 600' and ended up a little over 2000' -- over the course of two miles. Relatively bland trail (no bridges, waterfalls, or streams, sparse wildflowers, no scenic views along the way), but the weather was great, the forest was nice enough, and the top of the mountain has some stellar views (which I of course failed to photograph). Ended up at a colleague's house near the top of the trail for pizza and scotch. Good way to end the work week.

As the rest of my family sleeps, I just finished my first listen of a reissue of the mono version of Pink Floyd's Saucerful of Secrets, which my brother nabbed for me on Record Store Day at Grimey's in Nashville. As y'all may or may not remember, I'm a Pink Floyd fanatic. This one has been a real treat because I'd never heard Saucerful in mono before. It's rare as hell in its original form -- I'm a geeky collector of Floyd vinyl, and I've never even seen one -- and, to my knowledge, they'd never reissued it on CD or vinyl before now.

It's a solid version of the record and has some marked differences from the stereo mix. Hell, it may be even more of a departure from its stereo counterpart than the mono Piper at the Gates of Dawn is from its stereo release.

Bout to have a cider -- one from Michigan I randomly discovered a couple of weeks ago; 6.5 ABV, dry, and especially nice after a strenuous hike -- and likely dip my toes in the black hole that is Netflix.

No idea what's on the horizon this weekend. Whisky, errands, keeping the kids alive, making, uh, food of some kind that my children likely won't eat. You know, the usual.

PredictionPain that’s cool on the Pink Floyd records. They don’t make rock and roll like that anymore. The Dark Side lazer thing comes to Jackson enough that I’ll catch it one day.

I just wrapped up work and we’re meeting folks at Cock of the Walk. Fried catfish it is

OK guys,,,,I’m back, sorta. The last few weeks have been hectic. We were hit with a tornado a couple of weeks ago, and all of the cooking tools (charcoal grill, smoker, gas grill, and frier) was either destroyed or blown away. The outdoor kitchen and pool house are no longer. So tonight is Pizza Hut take out. However, after approval from the insurance company, we will have all the cooking items before Memorial Day. It is also slowing down, so I can start to read and post here. BTW, anyone need firewood, lol. Got a ton of trees cut up.

This was what was left of the kitchen and grills...and what all we could find. We did find one of the 8’ tables 520 yards away in a tree across the field.

Jeez man I’m glad insurance is cutting a check and you’ll get that setup back up and rolling. Just glad it wasn’t your house.

We did redfish tacos tonight. Went to a big annual party on Friday night and spent all day yesterday recovering.

Wow. Glad y'all made it out safely, despite the replaceable damage. Hope y'all can get things back to normal quickly.

Tried a new place in town tonight called Reid's Apothecary. It is very drink and cocktail oriented - and has a great bourbon and whiskey menu. Great Manhattan. I had sage rubbed spare ribs, creamed potatoes, cream corn, and Sea Island Red Peas. It was very good - and priced very well too. We will be going back to check out their weekend brunch soon.
