Seems the 7-inning DH would only be for the last day (Saturday for this series) and we would play two 9-inning games if played today.

We are playing two 9 inning games today. Your logic is correct.

Because you only have 3 day to play 3 games. The series cannot be extended to Sunday.

The rule is in place to prevent the slippery slope of Thursday series having an advantage over Fri, Sat, Sun series. All coaches would want Thursday series & to move up a Fri series with bad weather, if the SEC allowed Thurs series 4 days to play 3 games.

But teams with a Thursday series start out at a disadvantage. Allowing them the fourth day would only put them back on equal footing with everybody else.

How do they have a disadvantage? Everyone gets 3 days period. How is starting on a Thursday a disadvantage?

Pitching rotation. You either have to pitch all your starters on short rest or throw off on Thursday like we planned to do with Keegan yesterday.

Yeah but both teams in the series have to do that. Still not sure how that's a disadvantage. That's an inconvenience, not a disadvantage.

Its both. Both teams are inconvenienced, which disadvantages both as compared to the other 12 teams against which both are competing in a season long race.

I'm not talking about a disadvantage one Thursday team vs the other Thursday team. Both are dealing with the same thing (although it is true that some guys, like plumlee, are good on short rest while some guys are not, thereby putting the team with those guys who are not at a disadvantage).

Im talking about both teams being at a disadvantage as compared to the other 12 teams in the league who are playing fri-sun and having their guys on full rest and on normal routines throughout the week.
