Buddy of mine just sent me a screenshot of a post on the Spirit that said their baseball team underachieving is due to the players not being focused because "there is so much going on in Oxford".

Is that the excuse for this year? Seems like they could use that excuse every other time they choke

I hear it is quite a challenge to "maintain status" in and around Oxford.

meanwhile at Starkville, there's so much going on....that our coach can be sexting in the dugout during games, we fire him, and we still go to Omaha. We are that good.

Jeez guys, show some damn empathy....why must we always be so cynical....it's hard work going against the social grain, living in the past, quietly attempting to rewrite it, and constantly embarrassing your state (for all of the above)....all while maintaining the veneer of cultural superiority. #IAMAREBEL *********

Damn, with the post season record that Fla St. has had or that thereof, would you want that job?

With Bianco's postseason record, would they want him?

They've only put up with 40 years of Martin not winning it.

All I’m saying is, our players are still college students and still do the same thing their peers are doing. And yes that includes going out the night before games and after games. Let them make excuses but good teams can do both(live the life of a college kid while also not letting it affect performance).

So OM players are affected by the offerings of normal college life, but players elsewhere have nothing else to do and are focused because of it?

This appears to be their version of "the big crowds put too much pressure on the players." Sadly, it was one of our former coaches that came up with that excuse and our fans have run with it even up to this very year.

At what point does Bianco say 17 it?

Probably after his kids graduate high school and knowing the state retirement system- I'm guessing 2025-2026.

I hate to tell their fans- even Bjork isn't dumb enough to fire their most successful baseball coach in school history. He was hired to get them to Omaha. He did. He's there as long as he wants to be.

Pretty sure they are going to hire Mike Martin's son as the head coach. So it's about as open as our job in 1997.
