3rd basemen in on grass and Halter big chops one over him for a leadoff single. He needed that for confidence even though that’s a out with 3rd base in

Foscue looking good at second and I think Halter is more of a natural fit at 3rd with that gun he has. Could be the switch shores up this infield. If we get really good fielding ground balls, our pitchers will start to be unhittable since most of them are ground ball pitchers.

My point is we will very likely be at least 30-7 and if we have a perfect week could be 31-6. That’s about as bad ass as it gets record wise. That’s damn near 1989 record level.

Why? We will be fine. You have to close this game out tonight against a really good team. Take a W when you can. Close game close it out. And if we are gonna make a run in postseason we better have a few closers ready to go.

This is true. And now we only have two sub 100 RPI teams left on the schedule- Texas Southern and Memphis. If we win those two at home we've avoided having any bad losses on the schedule.

Price should be able to go one.

Leibelt can go 2 at least. Barlow is a one inning guy or is best used that way. But he can go multiple games. Self can go one. Colby White can go one. And oh yeah- Cole Gordon can go 2-3 if needed. Really the key is Plumlee and Small eating innings. If they can do that plus adding Ginn back to rotation it will make us really difficult to beat and just make our bullpen deeper. That's six guys out of the pen and most can go multiple games on the weekend. And I'm not really counting Keegan James at this point since I expect him to start Sunday.

I remember everyone railing on Gordon last year. I even posted here that if you want confidence in a pitcher you have to trust them in tough situations. We have a few Big time pitchers that will excellent if we trust them in tough situations. Don’t get me wrong we may have growing pains with them but trust from a coaching staff will pay off if they have the talent.
Good pitchers can become great if they are trusted. But some will fold. It’s up to our coaches to find the talented and make them mentally strong

Gordon struggled and was pretty inconsistent until the regionals last year. I can't blame our fans for any criticism of him there. They also praised him when he stepped it up as well.

Our bullpen to be honest has been somewhat inconsistent on the year. I think a lot of that is because of a lack of a Sunday starter which has caused us to use the bullpen more and maybe overexposed some guys some. If we can find a Sunday starter that can consistently go 5-6 IP to go with Small and Ginn that's when our depth will really shine through. Could be Plumlee.

Wasn’t being critical of our fans, that’s kinda what fans do, I was praising a coaching staff who ran him out there when his confidence was fragile and they let him know they believed in him. I get irritated with fans with a short fuse who rail on a player but I respect a coaching staff who sticks and believes in a player. Our fans will slam our bullpen, and for the immediate results, but I expect a coaching staff to believe in them when it seems crazy if they have the goods to deliver.
Rowdey and Tanner probably appreciate that this year like Gordon did last. If it were up to our fans they shouldn’t have played much after their slumps. The problem is that if you don’t trust talented players having a tough time what does that say to talented players in a good spot. They end up pressing after a couple of failures. Baseball is a true sport of failure

I think there is a disconnect with some posters on this board with Rowdey, Tanner and those that want them to sit.

Most of the posters on here just wanted them to sit to get some rest and refocus and then go back into the lineup rather than bench them permanently . That's different than wanting a player off the team or something like that. I guess it's because there were some people on here that were very vocal about LA needing to sit out for the season and basically saying that he wasn't any good. Anyway- most of us realize that we're dealing with human beings here who need to rest and refocus at times because if you just "trust that a guy is going to work out of his slump" you can sometimes just make things worse and delay the recovery period. It's not a personal thing. It's not an I don't trust the coaches thing. It's the opposite. It's to help everyone.

As far as the bullpen- if a player isn't performing in a particular game I think it's OK to say so. We shouldn't be slapping players on the back because they struck out four times or gave up three home runs in an inning. We should as fans have some standards. You can still tell someone that they didn't do a good job and at the same time be supportive of them. At any rate I doubt the players care very much about what the fans have to say about them good or bad. And definitely not as much as some of our fans would like to believe that they do.
