Lookin like a rainy one in my area but I?m working so whatever. I?ll probably do something on the grill Saturday night. Might go check the bank of the Rez for panfish Sunday

Caught 47 vermillion, 3 trigger, and a lane snapper Tuesday. Been eating off that since. Added some boiled shrimp and oysters (raw and Rockefeller), with some smoked tuna and crab dip for apps. Little broccoli salad, some ceviche, and crab cakes too. Been a great week.

That’s a hell of a snapper haul. Nice work. I just completed a ridiculous night at work. About to have a bourbon and hit the sack.
ETA- Had one 3 finger pour of Buffalo Trace left so went with that

Got on the water for the first time this spring. It?s still real muddy and fresh from the Louisiana spillway being opened, but the reds were everywhere. Only took a pic of the first one because it got too messy after that. He was illegal, but they were out this morning. No bulls, but lots of solid fish. Had a couple dolphins hang out with us too.

Kayak fishing LA1 this weekend. Tough tough yesterday afternoon, but I saw some dock lights after dinner and slipped back in the water and caught all of our fish for the day. Took a break today to grill some fish and extras.

Nice work on those lights Speck. It ain’t a skunk until the day is over is my motto.
Ruckus,
I saw a bunch of reds last week too in the bay. Water was def fresh water but it wasn’t the dirtiest water I’ve caught in either. Stained but still some visibility

It’s good. It was only $26 so when you compare it to other bottles in it’s class it stacks up really well. Jameson black and caskmates are still my favorite Irish whiskeys to drink neat or on ice (a lil more expensive though) but proper 12 is a good one to add to my Irish rotation.

It was my birthday on Friday, so a few friends and I went out to a Jamaican place on Friday. After eating way, way too much, we continued the Caribbean theme and went to a rum bar. Tried El Dorado 21 Year for the first time -- it's awesome, though I don't think I liked it $90 more than the 15 year stuff, which I freaking love -- and then had a flight that included Appleton Estate Reserve, Flor de Cana 18 year, and Ron Zacapa XO. Kind of odd that the Appleton Estate wasn't the 12 or 21 year old given the company it was keeping, and it was definitely the odd man out. The Flor De Cana was smooth, but like the others in their line, the flavors were only sort of up my alley. But dude, the Zacapa XO, that was the jam, y'all. Really, really good stuff. It's out of my league for regular purchases, but I'm thinking that the Zacapa 23 is now on the list of things to try.
My wife got me a bottle of a whisky from Atlanta called "Duality (https://www.dualitydoublemalt.com/)." Hadn't ever heard of it and haven't opened it yet -- my whisky cabinet overfloweth at the moment and too many of those bottles are open already -- but I'll post a review eventually. It's not a bourbon at all, and is actually pretty different than any other whisky I've heard of. It's a "double malt" with a mashbill is half malted barley (peat smoked, at that) and half malted rye. Can't wait to see what it's like.
Oh, and I roasted/smoked a couple of chickens on the egg yesterday.

Damn... need to know about that Duality. Sounds like an interesting concept. I'm more single malt. Just too good to break away from, but I'll occasionally venture into the blends and bourbons.
