Geez! How do you keep up with that?

According to 247Sports, the Alabama Board of Trustees approved the contracts for its new football staff, which includes a three-year, $4.8 million contract for Sarkisian.

New defensive coordinator Pete Golding is the only other Crimson Tide assistant making seven figures in 2019. He'll rake in $3.6 million over his three seasons in Tuscaloosa.

Isn't Shoop making over $1 Mil per year with a 2 year deal? Golding basically has an extra year on his contract vs what we are paying Shoop.

But at the end of the day, Bama can outpay whoever they want if Saban REALLY wants the coach.

Saban is slipping with age and he knows it but he doesn't want to stop coaching. He is loading his staff up with high dollar coaches and the Athletic department with former head coaches.

You hire someone better than Steve Sarkisian for much less. There are plenty out there.

Steve with 15 ex-coaches as consultants and nfl talent everywhere is pretty formidable

At what point do other schools look around and say, sure Bammers may be paying 2 mil/year, but there are plenty of good coaches that would come for 650000-750000 for a couple years and not even try to compete with coaches that Alabama gets.

Surely there is a balance of good coach and good player that can, at least, compete without breaking the bank.

Anyone with that team around him would be pretty formidable.

The problem is that, if they are really good coaches, someone else will pay more after one or two seasons. You can then go get another good coach, but lose continuity in recruiting.

Not to mention they use all their former players in practice.

They have more money than they know what to do with. At first, I thought it meant $4.8M/year. That would be absolutely ludicrous.

Especially when the off the field coaches can start game planning for the next week's game.

Same with Golding. He might end up being a great DC, but he is very unproven.

That's kind of my point.

My next point is, could MSU enter that arena with a commitment to pay top dollar and produce more results?

That is plain hysterical, and now everyone else will have to start narrowing the gap. ****ing ridiculous.
