Only Zach Watson of their top-6 hitters (by batting average and power production) is right-handed

Z. Watson - R
J. Smith - L
D. Cabrera - L
A. Duplantis - L
G. DiGiacomo - L
C. Beloso - L

Should be a big weekend for Barlow from the pen. Wonder if Eagan (also left handed) will play an expanded role. Brock is still developing, probably won't factor.

I highly suspect that Barlow, Eagan and maybe Brock in a short stint will see a lot of action this series.

Barlow will feast on that lineup. And yes, Eagan should pitch a good bit.

They also have no lefties on their pitching staff. So hello Mangum and Allen.

Hatcher too. He's been raking vs righties

How the hell do they not have one lefty pitcher?

How did we have to have Mangum be our Sunday Starter in '16? College baseball isn't like football. In football you know the top programs have great talent at every position. Baseball there's often not a single team that doesn't have a flaw their fans are melting about. But yeah it is shocking that LSU hasn't convinced 1 decent lefty to come to school in the past 3 classes

Yeah, I wouldn't mind getting Landon Jordan some looks this weekend, either. Honestly, there's really no drawback to going completely LH heavy in the lineup because they literally don't have another option. They're only going to throw righties against you.

Players get drafted, transfer, hurt, become All American Outfielders, or bust

Look at our Left-hand situation:
(1) Mitchell Miller decommited to Clemson and busted
(2) Eliott Anderson and Jack Owen decommited to Auburn and are thriving (maybe not Owen)
(3) Jared Padgett, TJ'ed left the program and crash landed at Kansas
(4) Some kid from Dyersburg TN completely busted on us and eventually re-emerged at Vandy
(5) Christian MacLeod is on the team but recovering from Mono
(6) Walker Robbins was a hitter but with dual threat possibilities - signed with MLB
(7) Josh Hatcher on the team but not pitching
(8) Jake Mangum on the team but not pitching
(9) Kale Breaux TJ'ed
(10) Andrew Mahoney hurt
(11) Colin Holdermann - signed with MLB

That's 12 lefties that we recruited and/or got on campus that could have been on the 2019 roster...but are not

That was in 2017 and because we had 8 pitchers out injured.

And Tiger Droppings has a huge argument about their pitching coach because apparently 45% of their pitchers are out with injury, usually soreness in the arm. Several think Alan Dunn should be fired.

Interesting note though: LSU literally has no way of simulating a LHP in batting practice. They flip a pitching machine around and that's as good as they can do. Really unreal problem to have for such a high level program

They gotta have some left handed frat boys that can throw at least 70 mph. Somewhere on campus

Copied from tiger droppings ...

This team has a great collections of individual talents. LSU will be in every game & scare some people in the postseason.

But you can’t win shite with only 1 legit RH batter vs 6 full time LH hitters, and ZERO left handed pitchers.
