Basketball is different then any other sport. We play the game like our players game translate which is fast break, down hill we win that game. Too many of you idiots wanna act like its the 1980's in the MS private school league and run the 4 corners offense. Game isn't played like that anymore at all.

Welp, if we had hired Kermit Davis after Stans “retired” we’d of been fine. Kermit Davis was going to bring Butch Pierre with him as his top recruiter and associate head coach. We wouldn’t have missed a beat and been the dominant basketball program in the state. Instead, we let Davis go to Ole Miss. Lucky for us he wasn’t able to snag Pierre because of certain issues but we now know Ole Miss will be fired up every time they play us. Davis is a good coach but isn’t a good recruiter and luckily he doesn’t have good recruiters on his staff so he will be fighting up hill getting talent there. Davis with Pierre though would have been a different story.

Rick Ray was a bad hire and an even worse recruiter,however, if this team had half the heart of chicken,ware or Thomas we wouldn’t have lost that game last night. Ray’s issue was that he didn’t recruit SEC raw talent level. His teams didn’t lack effort, but that can only take you so far. Howland does more with less which is just as frustrating. I’m not saying to fire Howland, but if he misses the dance next year it will be time to look for a coach not a recruiter.
