The delusion is strong up North. I just read on a certain site he following...

?Ole Miss has a top 5 baseball program. Top 5 national attendance, top 5 national perception, top 5 facilities, and several top 5 recruiting classes.?

This came after they were talking about Bianco sucks.... again....

How many CWS y?all been too?
How many Supers??
How many time you actually won a regional game for that matter??

No doubt!
Tell them to just compare themselves to us, just this weekend and today!

Why do we care about their delusion. Screw them. We are rising up in every sport and they are staying the same or falling.
How about everyone just enjoy the next few weeks and not read about them, talk about them, or think about the little gnats they are. We just had a special weekend and are going to have a special week when we take 2 vs UF, make the NCAA tournament, and be picked as a #1 seed for the Women's tournament.

They are literally not even a top 5 program in the SEC And historically nowhere near a top 5 program in the SEC West.

This is what's so bad. They aren't Top 5 in the SEC. Vandy, UF, LSU, us, and Arkansas have way more of a leg to stand on than OM.

On SEC Rant, SummerOfGeorge came up with a metric to rank baseball programs:

Baseball
National Title : 35 pts
National Runner Up : 25 pts
CWS : 15 pts
NCAA Regional Champ : 10 pts
NCAAT : 3 pts

BASEBALL
1. LSU (828)
2. South Carolina (611)
3. Florida (507)
4. Mississippi State (426)
5. Arkansas (385)
6. Texas A&M (292)
7. Missouri (276)
8. Alabama (264)
9. Georgia (249)
10. Vanderbilt (236)
11. Ole Miss (191)
12. Auburn (173)
13. Tennessee (152)
14. Kentucky (31)

Puts them at 6th in the West and not even close.

Ummm.....no....They have had less baseball success than everyone in the West except for Auburn. They are about tenth in the conference as a whole.

Depends on how far back you are talking. 2000- today they're better than Alabama and Auburn.

If you include before 2000 Alabama and Auburn are better.

The irony is that they're using all of these accolades as a reason to justify why Bianco is bad... but not realizing that Bianco is the reason why they've BECOME the level that they are now in the first place. He's created his own unrealistic expectations, basically from scratch/nothing

State fans did the same thing with Mullen and Stansbury, holding those coaches to a standard that wasn't there before or after them, not realizing that the reason they got to the point of expecting Sweet 16's or 9/10 win seasons(or being disappointed if not reaching that level) was because those coaches were overachieving

I think that's apples and oranges.

Bianco did and has achieved a lot but he also had really good timing. MSU, LSU, Alabama, and Auburn all were in a state of decline when he took over. That helped him and Ole Miss out a lot. Had we hired Paul Manieri and not brought Polk back they may have improved but they wouldn't have equaled and passed us by very briefly. Then around 2007-ish MSU started to rebuild and LSU improved with us coming back by 2011 and Alabama and Auburn stayed the same. Now MSU and LSU are close to 80's-90's level and Alabama and Auburn finally appear to be on the upswing while Ole Miss has stayed relatively the same the entire time.

In football we've been more of a sleeping giant than anything and Jackie Sherrill absolutely had as much sustained success as Dan did between 1996-2000. Dan's problem was Jackie showed us that we could beat bigger opponents than Dan was consistently able to beat.

Top 5 attendance I'll grant them. They have a top 6 ballpark in the conference I think. Probably makes them top 10 nationally. There is no metric other than attendance by which either of us are a top 5 program nationally (it's possible they could be top five in wins over the last 15 years or something).
They've got a good program, but they're not in the tier of Oregon State, Texas Tech, TCU, Vanderbilt and Florida.
