Yeah, I mean if told you Allen would be hitting .228 and Rowdey would be at .200 after 14 games I might not think we would be 13-1. I think Skelton was in danger of losing his job, but then he hit the homer earlier in this game. He's around .227.

I believe we are still in the top 4-5 in the SEC in hitting right now. I think we have been a little unlucky. It seems like we hit the ball hard a lot right at people in spurts. I think it will likely get better because we don't strike out a lot and last year we weren't hitting well until after week three in SEC play. That may just be a thing with Gautreau. I agree with maybe resting Rowdey and playing Cumbest. I want to see how he handles a start.

I agree with this! This team responds when their backs are against the wall and it has been fairly smooth sailing thus far. Listening to Jim on these radio broadcasts, you can just tell it feels like spring training, and the games are rarely in doubt. When we need to match runs, the hits will come. We are also squaring up a lot of balls hit right at people.

Something to think about - last night, McNamee was walked to bring up Foscue. Then he was walked to bring up Skelton who had hit a hr earlier. There is as much power in this lineup as I ever remember as a state fan.
