Presumably our women's team is still there.

Several in east central Alabama with fatalities today, near Auburn, and extending into Georgia.

10+ dead. We were in a long streak of no violent tornadoes. That more than likely came to a screeching halt today. Some of those storms were lofting debris over 15,000ft.

I'd heard "multiple fatalities" earlier, but didn't know it was that high. I'm watching TWC and they're still saying 2 in Lee County, but they're always behind on things.

10 in Lee County. Smith Station is right across the river from my friends house in North Columbus Ga on Lake Oliver. Lots of trees snapped round her house. Tornado just missed them.

CNN is saying 14 fatalities now.

Any guess on intensity based on the pictures they've shown? Perhaps an EF-4?

Yea... that was too close yesterday... came within a couple miles of where I have family.
Death count is now up to 23. Lots more missing. Very sad.

What makes it all worse is the number of people all over social media griping about weather alert cut ins taking golf off tv. Unreal how selfish some people are when it comes to stupid tv shows.

Final rating in. EF-4 with winds of 170mph. I thought 3 was low and it would end up being upgraded.

Yeah, I'm not surprised.

Unless I'm mistaken, TWC said there was a series of maybe three tornadoes that followed a similar line yesterday.

Yea the initial person with NWSBirmingham who arrived on the scene, said he rated it ef-3 to keep from making a knee jerk reaction, but fully expected it to be upgraded

Last ef4 or stronger was in Canton, TX almost 2 years ago.
Deadliest tornado since the HORRIBLE EF-5 in Moore, Ok that killed 24 in May 2013. That was a absolute monster of a storm.

Moore was a monster. Sad thing when you say Moore EF-5 you have to distinguish which one.
